Isle of Wight Walking Festival 2016

Isle of Wight Walking Festival May 2016 - 30 April to 15 May 2016.
Walking is one of the best ways to admire the Isle of Wight's stunning scenery, and one of the best times to visit is during May for the UK's biggest walking festival. There are over 135 themed walks to suit those new to walking as well as seasoned ramblers. All you have to do is select a walk from the programme and turn up, lightly laden at the right place.
Experienced guides have worked out the routes and will gladly pass on information about local history, wildlife and culture. And with over 500 miles of footpaths and bridleways including four coastal trails and eight long-distance walks, there's always a good reason to return. A free copy of the walking programme will be available from March.

It's All about the Birds - Bird Watching

The estuaries and creeks to the north of the Island are especially rich in birdlife; Newtown Creek, for example, can be visited at anytime of the year and you will not be disappointed by the plethora of fantastic species that you can be lucky enough to encounter. Regardless of your level of interest as a watcher, you can find an almost limitless variety of different places to explore.
One place is never the same as the passage of time constantly paints its veil of change, with many of our bird species being only summer or winter visitors. Even though the Island is a popular tourist attraction, it is still easy to find yourself wandering alone through many hectares; isolated in the calming beauty of the Island that has inspired some of history's greatest writers and artists.
Many of the coastal areas draw visitors to the beaches but it is the cliffs and chines above where you will find the action. With over 500 miles of footpaths snaking through an area of only 147 square miles, it is easy to get straight out there from pretty much any starting point. .

This is adrenaline at 5mph!! Ever fancied getting your hands on a powerful 4x4 and using it as it was designed to be used? Two purpose built courses of varying difficulty test your skills behind the wheel. Go against friends or just challenge yourself! Blindfold driving- blind folded driver guided by his navigator tries to complete a laid out course. points deducted for knocking over cones/markers. There will be a coach in all vehicles.
It doesn't matter how fit you are, how old you are or whether you are complete beginners off road because we provide instruction for all levels and experience to suit each group.
OFF-ROAD driving has gone from strength to strength in the past few years. But, despite the increased sophistication of four-wheel-drive vehicles, owners soon realise off-road driving involves more than slipping the transfer lever into 4WD.
Driving off-road requires particular skills to ensure safety for driver and passengers, and to limit damage to the vehicle. All drivers must hold a current driving licence
The course is normally for half a day, maximum numbers at one time are 15 minimum 2, but we also have an airgun range and archery on site so can cater for larger groups, so no-one hangs around.
